Asia’s Metaplanet, a prominent Japanese investment giant that recently added Bitcoin to its reserve assets, has made another significant purchase of the popular cryptocurrency. The company revealed that it acquired 23,351 Bitcoin (BTC) valued at around $1.59 million.
This move has bolstered Metaplanet’s position in the cryptocurrency market as it continues to increase its Bitcoin holdings. Often referred to as the “MicroStrategy of Asia,” the company now holds a total of 141.07 Bitcoins worth $9.6 million, acquired at an average price of $65,365 (JPY10,278,391).
Despite Bitcoin’s current decline ahead of the FED interest rate decision and CPI data, the market views Metaplanet’s bold investment in Bitcoin as a strategic move to capitalize on the price drop. As of now, Bitcoin is trading at $67,570.
