In 2024, a wave of altcoins rose to prominence, surpassing even the giants Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Since the start of the year, 23 altcoins have outperformed these leading cryptocurrencies, marking a significant shift in the market.
According to Chinese cryptocurrency journalist Wu Blockchain, some of the altcoins within the top 100 by market value have exceeded the growth of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The Wu Blockchain team compiled a list of the top 100 altcoins that have outpaced BTC and ETH in 2024.
Among these altcoins, WIF, PEPE, FLOKI, JASMY, CKB, PENDLE, AR, CORE, TON, and FET have emerged as the top performers. With staggering percentage increases, these altcoins have left Bitcoin and Ethereum in the dust.
For instance, WIF saw a growth of 2008.3%, while PEPE skyrocketed by 975%. FLOKI surged by 770%, and JASMY surpassed BTC with a rise of 558%, compared to Bitcoin’s 68% increase.
The crypto market is evolving rapidly, with new altcoins emerging as strong contenders against established players like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Investors are advised to stay informed and diversify their portfolios to capitalize on these emerging opportunities.
