Bitcoin (BTC) is predicted to experience a significant rally in 2025, according to Alex Thorn, the head of research at Galaxy Digital. Thorn forecasts that the price of Bitcoin will surpass $150,000 in the first half of the year and reach $185,000 in the fourth quarter. This prediction is based on the increasing adoption of Bitcoin by corporations, institutions, and nation-states, which is expected to drive up its price.
Thorn stated that Bitcoin has consistently outperformed other asset classes, such as the S&P 500 and gold, since its inception. He believes that this trend will continue in the coming years, with Bitcoin’s market capitalization expected to reach 20% of gold’s. The report also predicts that the total assets under management of U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will exceed $250 billion by 2025.
Furthermore, Thorn expects that at least five Nasdaq-100 companies and five nation-states will add Bitcoin to their balance sheets or wealth funds. This growing interest in Bitcoin at the institutional and national level reflects a growing optimism about its long-term potential as a store of value and a hedge against traditional financial systems. If this influx of participation occurs as predicted, it could further solidify Bitcoin’s position as a globally recognized digital asset.
