Title: The Open Network (TON) Expected to Surpass Ethereum’s User Count in Two Months
According to data from cryptocurrency analytics firm CryptoQuant, The Open Network (TON) is predicted to surpass Ethereum (ETH) in terms of user numbers by the end of this year. The rapid growth of TON’s user base suggests that it will likely overtake ETH around December 20, based on current trends.
Currently, Ethereum has approximately 137 million users, while TON has already reached an impressive 112 million users. TON has been attracting an average of 500,000 new users daily over the past month. If this rate of growth continues, TON could surpass Ethereum in total holders within the next two months.
However, CryptoQuant analysts have pointed out two factors that could affect this forecast. Firstly, there is a possibility of a slowdown in TON’s growth. If the growth rate decreases, the transition date could be postponed to February 3, 2025, based on a lower growth estimate calculated with minus one standard deviation.
Secondly, Ethereum continues to gain new users, despite its growth rate remaining relatively flat in recent data. An increase in ETH’s owner base could impact the timeline, potentially delaying TON’s overtaking point.
The rapid expansion of TON’s user base is indicative of the increasing adoption of The Open Network, which was originally developed by the Telegram team. Analysts at CryptoQuant believe it is only a matter of time before TON surpasses Ethereum in terms of user numbers.
