Former high-ranking executives from major tech companies such as Google, Apple, Tesla, Meta, and X have recently joined the Worldcoin project, which was co-founded by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI. The goal of these new hires is to enhance various aspects of Tools for Humanity, including privacy, security, hardware, and digital identity.
One notable addition to the team is Rich Heley, a former executive at Apple, Meta, and Tesla, who now serves as Worldcoin’s Chief Device Officer. In this role, Heley is responsible for overseeing the design, performance, and accessibility of the Orb, a hardware device developed by Tools for Humanity that utilizes iris scans.
Adrian Ludwig, previously the Security Director for Google’s Android platform, has been appointed as the Information Security Officer at Tools for Humanity. In this position, Ludwig will be in charge of ensuring both internal and external data security.
Ajay Patel, a former Google executive, has joined the company as the Head of World Identity. In this role, Patel will lead the company’s marketing strategy, establish public and private partnerships, and enhance the overall user experience. Prior to joining Worldcoin, Patel led the identity team at Google Payments.
Lastly, Damien Kieran, a former executive at X, has joined Worldcoin as the Privacy Officer for Tools for Humanity. Kieran previously held a similar role at X and will now be responsible for overseeing privacy matters within the company.
The cryptocurrency WLD has experienced a 1.9% increase in value over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $2.36.
