Phishing Attack Warning for Prominent Altcoin: Security Firm Raises Concerns! Risk of Price Decline Rises!
A security company called SlowMist has issued a warning about the increasing number of phishing attacks targeting the ecosystem of The Open Network (TON), a blockchain platform connected to Telegram. According to SlowMist, the TON ecosystem, which includes decentralized applications (DApps) and TON blockchain-based tokens, has become a prime target for phishing attacks due to its rapid growth in 2024.
The founder of SlowMist expressed his concerns in a post on his X account, stating, “Phishing attacks in the TON ecosystem are on the rise. The Telegram ecosystem provides a lot of freedom, making it an attractive target for attackers. Phishing links and bot forms are being spread through message groups, airdrops, and other deceptive methods to hijack assets, including NFTs. Additionally, many people are using Anonymous Telegram Numbers to create Telegram accounts, which puts their accounts at risk if they are stolen or if two-step verification is not enabled. The phishing attack methods are essentially the same, so users need to be cautious.”
In addition to the phishing attacks, the price of Toncoin (TON) has also experienced a decline, following the downward trend of Bitcoin (BTC) and the overall cryptocurrency market. Experts have warned that if the TON network does not take action to address these attacks, it could pose a risk to the price of TON, leading to further declines.
As of the time of writing, TON has decreased by 6.1% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $7.14.
