A recent development has emerged in the BTCTurk hack incident, revealing that the hacker responsible for stealing an unknown amount of crypto assets from the Turkish exchange has targeted another platform.
According to cryptocurrency investigator ZachXBT, the hacker not only breached BTCTurk but also infiltrated a platform called Sportsbet, making off with over $2.9 million in assets. These stolen assets from both incidents have now been combined.
In response to the hack, BTCTurk reassured its users that its financial reserves were sufficient to cover the losses incurred. Additionally, the initial hack coincided with a significant 10% decrease in the Avalanche (AVAX) token. ZachXBT noted that around 1.96 million AVAX tokens, valued at $54.2 million, were transferred to various exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, Gate, and notably, THORChain.
