Binance Issues Statement Regarding BTCTurk’s Hack
In the wake of a hacking attack on BTCTurk, one of Turkey’s major cryptocurrency exchanges, Binance CEO Richard Teng has stepped up to address the situation. He stated that Binance is actively aiding in the investigation and has frozen over $5.3 million of the stolen funds. Teng emphasized the ongoing efforts of Binance’s security teams to safeguard the ecosystem from malicious actors and assured that updates on the matter will be provided in due course.
BTCTurk recently confirmed the hacking incident in a message to its users, revealing that the stolen funds were limited to assets in hot wallets and involved 10 different cryptocurrencies. However, the exact amount stolen has not yet been disclosed by the platform.
