Nocturne, a privacy protocol backed by Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, has delivered unfortunate news to its users – it’s time to withdraw your funds. The company has announced its gradual shutdown, with withdrawals remaining open until the end of the month.
In a tweet, Nocturne expressed the difficult decision to wind down the company after discontinuing the privacy protocol established last year. The platform, based in the USA, aimed to provide users in the Ethereum ecosystem with anonymous trading capabilities, allowing deposits and withdrawals to Nocturne accounts.
Back in October 2023, Nocturne Labs secured $6 million in a seed round with investments from Vitalik Buterin, Bain Capital Crypto, and Polychain Capital. While Buterin has invested in various altcoin and cryptocurrency projects, not all ventures have been successful.
